Hello, here I tell you a little bit more about my story.

I was born in Bogota, and as a Colombian, I have been characterized for persevering and not stopping to achieve my goals, although they seem a bit unattainable, since I have always been attracted to the international context. That is why I have used languages as a fundamental tool to achieve an internationalization in my professional approach.

I studied a BA in Humanities and Languages at the Universidad Libre of my hometown and at the end I decided to go to a cultural exchange to Minnesota to teach Spanish. I had always wanted to do a Master's degree, but when I was not clear about the approach, I decided to go to Paris to teach English and, at the same time, to get a better French. After these experiences I decided that I wanted to focus on Spanish, my native language, for that reason I entered at the Universidad de Navarra in Spain where I completed the MELE program.

I worked at ILCE, Institute of Spanish Language and Culture of the Universidad de Navarra, here I taught my foreign students Spanish under the Sociocultural Theory. What I propose mainly in each of my classes is to allow students to develop their communication skills under real contexts and materials that encourage interaction, participation and loss of fears when using Spanish as the main language of communication.

If you want to take a look to a short digital story telling about my experience during my Master program, just click here.

I am currently back in Minnesota where I completed my second M.A. in Hispanic Linguistics, and I continue pursuing a PhD in this same field. I am also teaching Spanish to undergraduate students. I am very happy to continue my path of constant teaching and learning. You can check the different links I have to get to know me a little better.
