UNIT 2
This unit is divided into 6 components: Lesson plan for transitioned reading or listening activity, Lesson Plan for transitioned writing activity, Transitioned activity, Participation Rubric, Top 5 list for learners and teachers and reflection 1. Each one of these components ix explained below.
Lesson plan for transitioned reading or listening activity
In this activity I worked on an activity that normally takes place in a face-to-face class and I made the transition from that activity to an online lesson plan. After taking into account the comments and suggestions received, I include my lesson plan for a listening activity.
Lesson Plan for transitioned writing activity
In this component I made the transition from a writing activity to go from being a face-to-face activity to being an online activity. I modified the methods used to be able to have this activity online and the transition in general.
Participation Rubric
This component is about participation qualification rubrics. I took as a reference the rubric used in the SPAN 1022 course at the University of Minnesota. I modified this rubric so that it can be used as an assessment tool in a given class online. I took into account classes that are taught synchronously as well as classes that are taught asynchronously. To see my proposal for an evaluation of participation.
Transitioned activity
This component completes the listening activity previously worked on. Some tools to use during the activity are added and it is specified what type of feedback and assessment will be given to the students and the objective. This plan is expected to be fully viable to be worked online.
Top 5 list for learners and teachers
In this component I express my main recommendations and strategies to take into account when taking classes or teaching online. After developing several activities of the course, it is possible to conclude with useful strategies for students and at the same time strategies for teachers. This way, I arrive at the five main recommendations from my point of view for students and teachers.
Reflection 2
After completing unit two, it is possible to arrive at constructive reflections that allow me to be a better online teacher. This is thanks to the previous experience lived during the unit of being an online language learner. For this reason, as a result of the lived experience and the activities carried out, I present my reflection about this second unit.
